Affiliation with the Solomon Schechter School Association
Solomon Schechter Day School of Albuquerque is affiliated with the Solomon Schechter Day School Association which is part of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. There are 73 Solomon Schechter Day Schools throughout North America.
The Association provides a framework for academic and Judaic standards, as well as a support network for the staff and Board of Trustees. A biennial conference provides an opportunity for lay leaders and professionals to network and learn from experts in the field and from each other. List serves, conventions for Admissions Directors, Heads of School, and other professionals and specialists, and a newsletter are other forums for the sharing of resources and information.
Although Solomon Schechter schools are affiliated with the Conservative movement, SSDS of Albuquerque is open to children from all points along the Jewish spectrum who are committed to raising their children in the Jewish faith and who are considered Jewish according to the rabbis in our community. We typically have students from a wide range of backgrounds including Reform, Conservative, Modern Orthodox, Renewal and unaffiliated.
