Visual Arts
The visual arts program explores the world of art using an inquiry-based approach to learning. Students are encouraged to ask questions and search for answers through:
- research,
- group sharing,
- self reflection,
- community art activities,
- multicultural experiences,
- intergenerational experiences,
- individual art work,
- integrated lessons with the general and Jewish studies teachers
This is accomplished through age-appropriate lessons in:
- drawing,
- painting,
- printmaking,
- clay,
- mosaics,
- murals,
- jewelry,
- calligraphy,
- artistic lettering,
- collage,
- book-making,
- poetry and art,
- card-making,
- sculpture,
- using recycled materials,
- weaving, and painted and printed textiles
