Health & Physical Education
The physical education program is taught by members of the Jewish Community Center's staff using the JCC's indoor gymnasium and outdoor field. Students participate twice weekly in P.E. classes with the goal of achieving the President's Physical Fitness Award for their age level. In addition, students learn skills specific to games such as t-ball, hockey, and soccer, learn about good sportsmanship and team play, and play creative games with movement and patterns.
The health curriculum is taught through the physical education, general studies and Jewish studies curriculum. Students learn about nutrition, importance of physical activity for good health, and, at the upper grade levels, students learn about avoiding risky behaviors.
